Arrival in Stará Boleslav on rafts

There are diverse ways of getting to Stará Boleslav indeed. A group of young people were inspired by Benedict XVI who arrived to see the youth in Cologne on a steamboat in 2005 and also in Sydney last year. That is why 60 young people from the Czech Republic and 40 from Poland together with 2 priests have decided that this time it will be them who reaches the place of the meeting with his Holiness on "boats".

On Friday, September 25 they commenced their journey with a Holy Mass in Libice nad Cidllinou which was celebrated by the vicar general of the diocese of Hradec Králové, Mons. Tomáš Holub. Today they travelled on foot to Ostré nad Labem and on Sunday they will board the rafts to sail to Stará Boleslav. All in all, they will travel 25 km on foot and 15 km on boat.
